Burkett Industries is comprised of two divisions.
The Burkett Lightning Rod Company is the oldest division having been founded in 1870 by Joel Burkett.
The Burkett Lightning Rod Company (BLR) manufactured and installed lightning protection systems.
At one time BLR manufactured everything required for their lightning protection systems using their own foundry and cable machines located in their facility in Fremont, Ohio.
Joel Burkett passed the business on to his son, Byron Burkett; the second generation of Burketts to run the company.
