MEI was established in 1991 as Mike's Electric, Inc., of Jay, Vermont, and since then has grown into one of the most capable and versatile full-service electrical contracting companies in Vermont.
A branch office in Williston, VT, was opened in 2013 to better serve the Chittenden County area, western Vermont, and eastern New York.
In 2014, MEI spun off its successful fire alarm and security system divisions as MEI Systems Integrators.
In 2017, then-President Adam Fortier purchased the business and moved the company to a larger building in Westfield, VT.
