A & J Electric
Founded in 1962, the CVECA was organized by local electrical contractors as a means of providing a group support approach to industry problems. Our organization has grown over the years and has implemented other diverse programs and services. Our flagship program, the Apprenticeship Training Program, stands in the forefront. We invite you to learn more about our organization and welcome you to consider joining our association.

The CVECA is dedicated to enhancing the industry through the process of continuing education and labor relations. This organization is the heart and soul of the area's electrical contracting industry - striving to promote higher standards of work, quality workmanship, and a better working environment.
Services
The Central Virginia Electrical Contractors Association members participate in offering the opportunities available to potential apprentices at yearly local job fairs and career days during the course of the calendar school year.
We work in conjunction with the Department of Labor & Industry as well as other organizations to achieve this goal.
Taking time to meet and inform prospective enthusiastic high school students and others looking to make a career change, interested in the electrical industry benefits all contractors and training programs alike.
The Central Virginia Electrical Contractors Association meets regularly on the second Wednesday of each month.
The meeting is usually a buffet lunch at the Wyndham Virginia Crossings Hotel and Conference Center at 11:30 AM.
A guest speaker is brought in on occasion, in conjunction with the Betterment of the Industry Committee and our Electrical Supplier Associate Members.
An Electrical Contractor or Electrical Supplier seeking to become a member of the Association can contact any of our existing members; attend one of the monthly meetings for a meet and greet and see what we are all about.
The CVECA Apprenticeship Training Program began in 1974, when the members of the Association had become dissatisfied with the training programs that were available at time for their apprentices.
One of the Contractor Members by the name of Mr. Rudy Jones stepped forward and took it upon himself to create a training program which would meet with the approval of the Association's Contractor Members.
The goal was to provide a four year training program which each attending apprentice would be provided with the classroom education necessary to pass the Virginia State Journeyman's test and produce qualified electricians for the workplace.
