Founded in 1981, we have dedicated ourselves to advancing the interests of independent electrical contractors in Northern New Mexico. As a local chapter of the National Independent Electrical Contractors Association, we provide comprehensive apprenticeship programs, continuing education, and advocacy for merit shop contractors. Our electrical apprenticeship program, recognized by the U.S. Department of Labor since 1981, has trained hundreds of electricians while maintaining rigorous standards of 8,000 on-the-job training hours and 600 classroom hours.We champion free enterprise and open competition through our membership of merit shop contractors who represent 85% of electrical contractors nationwide. Electrical Apprenticeship Program
Our four-year electrical apprenticeship combines 8,000 on-the-job training hours with 600 classroom hours. Apprentices learn electrical theory, code compliance, and practical wiring techniques while earning wages. Graduates receive U.S. Department of Labor-recognized credentials and qualify for New Mexico journeyman licensing exams.
Special Systems Apprenticeship
This three-year program trains telecommunications technicians in structured cabling, audio-visual systems, and fiber optics. Combining 6,000 field hours with 450 classroom hours, it prepares apprentices for ES3/ES7 licensing while covering safety protocols and specialized system installations for commercial applications.
Continuing Education
We provide NEC code updates, OSHA safety certifications, and technical workshops for licensed electricians. Our courses cover grounding/bonding, electrical calculations, and photovoltaic systems with approved continuing education credits for New Mexico EE-98J license renewal.
