The Midwest Independent Electrical Contractors is one chapter out of 53 chapters of the Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC). The IEC is a non-profit national trade association for merit shop electrical contractors. Contractor Members are merit shop certified electricians looking to network and grow their business in the electrical industry. Industry Partners are suppliers, manufacturers, and representatives of any business that sells goods or services in the electrical industry.

Our brick and mortar training center is located in Cedar Lake, Indiana and we also have the area's ONLY online training program as well.
During the 4 year program, apprentices that attend our electrical apprenticeship training program and are employed by Midwest IEC Contractor Members, will have over 500 hours of in-school training and 8000 hours of on-the-job training (OJT).
Upon completion of the program, our apprentices are issued a Journeyman license by the U.S. Department of Labor.
The average cost of tuition and books at an in-district junior college per year is over $8,000.
