Winkels Electric specializes in Fluorescent, Neon and LED sign repairs and installations. We install signs for many national companies as well as private owners. We install and maintain Neon and LED channel letter signs, Border Neon & LED lighting, Illuminated wall signs and pylon signs and replace faces in existing signs. We can also retrofit your existing Neon or Fluorescent sign with LED's, this will save you money on your electric bill and with maintenance costs.
Because we are also a Licensed Electrical Contractor we can install the high voltage wiring required for neon signs or install power to your wall sign or pylon sign. MN law requires a Licensed Electrician to perform any work associated with electric signs. Our Commercial/Industrial Department performs service & repair work, remodeling and new construction.

Winkels Electric has been a local, family owned business serving the Rochester, MN area ever since it was founded in 1956 by John J Winkels.
He started the business working out of his garage with 1 other employee.
They had a couple service trucks and did mainly service calls, small jobs and appliance repair.
In 1981 his son, John H Winkels and his wife Sheila, purchased the company and are the current Owners.
Several of John J Winkels other sons (brothers of John H Winkels) also worked as Electricians at Winkels Electric over the years but have since retired.
